Drive awareness around Microsoft’s Office 365 among SME Customers


About the Client:

Microsoft set up its India operations in 1990, and has since been working closely with the IT industry, the Indian government, academia and the local developer community to partner in India’s growth. The company runs six business units in India, has offices currently in 9 Indian cities and employs about 5,800 people in the country.

Business Challenge:

SMEs comprise a significant bulk of Microsoft’s clientele for some of its products like Office 365 and services. These SMEs are not always aware of the latest products and releases from Microsoft. Typical awareness programs in the past were perceived as monotonous, or too technical. That is why, Microsoft created an initiative called Completely Boss Challenge for Target SME owners aimed at engaging owners/ decision makers and creating specific awareness and experience around Microsoft Office 365 products, services, its idea, usage and positive impact on business.

How we helped:

The event consisted of 3 Phases and multiple levels within each of this phase.  An online and offline contest was designed for selecting the top 50 SME owners at each location and further rounds such as Escalator pitch, GK quiz, Office 365 quiz was held to decide the national champion. A unique MS Office 365 round was created where contestant used PowerPoint to play the quiz which carried content around Office 365 features and services.

Results and Highlights:

The Contest saw increased participation and queries from SMEs around Office 365 products. Compared to previous programs to engage SMEs, the Contest could achieve the following.

·         Sign-up for demos and individual discussions increased by 58%

·         Referral leads from other SMEs increased by 47%

·         Purchase and deployment increased by 36%
